We Are Redeemed

“Let the Redeemed of the Lord Tell Their Story”

Based on Psalm 107:1–2

📖 Key Verses:

Psalm 107:1–2 (NIV)
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord tell their story—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe.”

🔍 1. Who Are the Redeemed?

To be redeemed means to be bought back, rescued, or delivered from bondage.
In Psalm 107, the redeemed are:

  • Those rescued from distress (v.6)
  • Gathered from exile (v.3)
  • Saved from darkness, chains, rebellion, and stormy seas

In the New Testament, believers in Christ are the redeemed:

Ephesians 1:7“In Him we have redemption through His blood…”

We are the redeemed when we trust in Jesus as Savior and Lord.

🗣️ 2. Why Should the Redeemed Tell Their Story?

  • It glorifies God – shows His faithfulness and power
  • It encourages others – reminds them that hope is real
  • It defeats shame – replaces silence with testimony
  • It strengthens our faith – when we remember where we came from

Revelation 12:11“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…”

🧭 3. The Pattern of Psalm 107: Stories of Redemption

Psalm 107 repeats a 4-part pattern across different stories:

  1. People in trouble
  2. They cried out to the Lord
  3. He delivered them
  4. They gave thanks

You’ll find this in verses:

  • vv.4–9 (the wandering)
  • vv.10–16 (those in darkness)
  • vv.17–22 (the foolish)
  • vv.23–32 (those in the storm)

📌 Each story ends in praise.

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love…” (repeated refrain)

💬 4. Your Redemption Story Matters

Your story doesn’t need to be dramatic to be powerful.
God redeems from:

  • Sin
  • Shame
  • Fear
  • Addiction
  • Self-righteousness
  • Despair
  • Or just a life lived without Him

Each story is a living testimony of God’s mercy.

🙋 Reflection Questions:

  1. What has God redeemed you from?
  2. When have you cried out to the Lord and seen Him respond?
  3. How can you share your story with someone this week?

🙏 Prayer:

“Lord, thank You for redeeming me — for lifting me out of darkness and giving me a new story. Help me to speak of Your goodness with boldness and humility. May my testimony bring hope to others and glory to You. Amen.”

Takeaway Thought:

You don’t need a perfect past to tell your story — just a Redeemer who changed your future.

Here is a joyful and faith-filled poem titled “We Are Redeemed”, celebrating the beauty of salvation and the new life we have through Jesus Christ:

We Are Redeemed

We are redeemed—no longer bound,
The chains are gone, no guilt is found.
The blood of Christ has paid our price,
He bought our souls with sacrifice.

No longer lost in sin’s domain,
We walk in freedom, not in shame.
Once we were broken, scarred, unclean—
But now we stand, restored, redeemed.

We are redeemed—not by our might,
But by His grace, His love, His light.
Our past erased, our future sealed,
Our deepest wounds forever healed.

From every land, from every shore,
The call of mercy opens doors.
The captives run, the blind now see—
Through Jesus Christ, we’ve been set free.

We are redeemed, so let us sing,
Of mercy’s flood and heaven’s King.
Let every heart His love proclaim—
The risen Lord, the Savior’s name.
