Job’s Courage

Here’s a poem inspired by the courage of Job, drawn from his trials and faith in God:

Job’s Courage

When darkness fell and skies turned gray,
When all I loved was swept away,
I stood amidst the ash and dust,
And whispered still, “In God, I trust.”

The storms of life struck hard, unkind,
Yet in my heart, I sought to find
The One who formed both day and night,
Who holds all things within His might.

“My flesh may fail, my spirit ache,
Yet still, my soul will not forsake
The God who gives, the God who takes—
Blessed be His name, for His sake.”

Though friends accused and words cut deep,
I chose to trust, though I did weep.
For in the whirlwind, loud and clear,
I saw His power, felt Him near.

Through suffering’s fire, I came to see,
That courage flows from Him to me.
Restored, renewed, by His decree,
He turned my pain to victory.

So now I stand, through trials grim,
With faith secured, my eyes on Him.
For like Job, I will endure,
For God is faithful, strong, and sure.

This poem reflects Job’s unwavering courage, rooted in his trust in God, even amidst unimaginable loss and pain. It draws from Job 1:21 (“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord”) and Job 42:12 (God’s restoration of Job’s life). His story is a testament to courage through faith.
