Poems Of Courage

Here’s a poem inspired by the theme of Courage with references to the Bible:

Courage in His Name

When fear descends, a chilling tide,
And doubt attempts to cloud my stride,
I lift my eyes, where strength is found,
In Him whose love and grace abound.

“Be strong,” He says, “and do not fear,
For I, the Lord, am always near.”
In trembling steps, I find my way,
His Word my shield, my hope, my stay.

The giant falls, the walls give way,
As David stood, as Joshua prayed.
Not by my might, but by His hand,
I find the courage to withstand.

Through fiery trials and raging seas,
He whispers calm to enemies.
Like Daniel in the lion’s den,
He gives me strength to rise again.

So let the battle rage and roar,
For Christ has won forevermore.
My heart is bold, my spirit free,
For God Himself fights here with me.

This poem is rooted in passages like Deuteronomy 31:6 (“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified…for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”) and 2 Timothy 1:7 (“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline”). It reflects the power of God’s presence in giving us courage.
