Grace And Truth

A Bible study on Grace and Truth dives into the heart of who Jesus is and how we are called to live as His followers. These two powerful qualities—grace (undeserved kindness) and truth (God’s unchanging reality)—are not opposites but perfectly united in Christ.

📖 Bible Study: Grace and Truth

Theme: Jesus came full of grace and truth—and calls us to live the same.
Key Verse:

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory… full of grace and truth.”John 1:14 (NIV)

🔍 What Is Grace?

Grace is God’s unmerited favor, love, and kindness toward us.
It’s not earned. It’s a gift.

  • 📖 Ephesians 2:8–9 — “For it is by grace you have been saved… not by works.”
  • 📖 Romans 5:8 — “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Grace welcomes, forgives, restores, and heals.
It says: “Come as you are.”

🔍 What Is Truth?

Truth is what is real and unchanging in God’s eyes.
It includes His commands, His character, and His promises.

  • 📖 John 17:17 — “Your word is truth.”
  • 📖 Psalm 119:160 — “All your words are true.”

Truth corrects, convicts, guides, and protects.
It says: “Come as you are—but don’t stay that way.”

✝️ Jesus: The Perfect Balance of Both

📖 John 1:14, 17

“Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

Jesus didn’t choose between grace and truth—He brought both in perfect harmony.

  • To the adulterous woman (John 8), He said: “Neither do I condemn you (grace)… Go now and leave your life of sin (truth).”
  • To the rich young ruler (Mark 10:21), it says: “Jesus looked at him and loved him (grace)… One thing you lack (truth)…”

Grace without truth = soft love that never transforms.
Truth without grace = harsh rules that never heal.
Grace and truth together = the heart of the gospel.

A Poem of Grace

Grace like a river, steady and wide,
Flows from the heavens, a constant guide.
Unmerited, boundless, a gift so pure,
It heals the soul, makes the weary endure.

Not earned by deeds, nor bought by gold,
But given freely, a mystery untold.
A Savior’s love, His sacrifice clear,
Grace that conquers every fear.

“My grace is sufficient,” the promise stands,
A tender touch from holy hands.
It lifts the broken, it sets us free,
Grace that saves, eternally.

Through trials deep and shadows long,
Grace whispers soft, a steadfast song.
When burdens press and hope seems dim,
It draws us near, closer to Him.

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a soul once lost, now found.
A love so vast, no words can contain,
Grace unending, in joy or pain.

So let us walk with hearts made new,
With grace as our light in all we do.
For His mercy shines, His love remains,
Grace unchanging, through all domains.

A gift unearned, a gift divine,
Forever yours, forever mine.
In grace we stand, redeemed, restored,
A testament to our gracious Lord.

By Grace Are We Saved

By grace are we saved, not by our might,
A gift from the Father, pure and bright.
No works could earn, no deed repay,
The love that dawned on redemption’s day.

Through mercy deep and boundless love,
He sent His Son from realms above.
To bear the cross, to take our shame,
And write in blood our Savior’s name.

Not by the law, nor by our hand,
But by His grace, we firmly stand.
For though we falter, though we fall,
His grace redeems and covers all.

“For it is by grace you have been saved,”
A path of life the Savior paved.
No boasting here, no pride can rise,
For grace alone secures the prize.

It lifts the weak, restores the lost,
And paid the debt at the highest cost.
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved the sinner, now grace-abound.

By grace are we saved, through faith made whole,
A promise eternal for every soul.
Let hearts rejoice, let voices sing,
By grace we’re called to the King of kings.

Amazing Grace Poem

Amazing Grace

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound,
A song of love, where hope is found.
It saved a soul so lost, so blind,
A gift so pure, for all mankind.

Through trials deep and valleys low,
This grace sustains, it helps me grow.
When shadows fall, and fears take flight,
It leads me on, a guiding light.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
Then grace my trembling heart drew near.
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believed, sincere.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
I’ve walked the path upheld by prayers.
Grace brought me safe, and still it leads,
A love that fills my every need.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His word my hope, my liberty.
This earth may fade, the stars may fall,
But grace will stand and cover all.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun appears,
We’ve no less days to sing His praise,
Than when we first began to gaze.

Amazing grace, so freely given,
A glimpse of God’s own heart and heaven.
Forever cherished, this song remains,
A hymn of love that breaks all chains.
