A Poem on Contentment Inspired by the Bible
In quiet fields, beneath the sky,
I lift my heart to God on high.
For all I have and all I see,
Is given by His love for me.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want,”
His word my guide, His truth my font.
In pastures green and waters still,
He leads me gently by His will.
Not in riches nor in gold,
But in His peace, my hands I hold.
For treasures fade, and glory dies,
But joy remains where Christ abides.
“Godliness with contentment is great gain,”
He calms my heart, He soothes my pain.
Through every storm, I feel His grace,
A steadfast love in every place.
The sparrows sing, the lilies grow,
They toil not, yet His blessings flow.
“Be content with what you have,” He said,
And trust His hand to daily bread.
In Him, my soul will rest secure,
Through every trial, I endure.
“I have learned to be content,” I pray,
For Christ is my strength every day.
Let my heart rejoice in this:
A life of love, a Father’s kiss.
For heaven’s peace, my soul does yearn,
In God alone, contentment I learn.
This poem draws from verses such as Psalm 23:1, 1 Timothy 6:6, Hebrews 13:5, Matthew 6:26-28, and Philippians 4:11-13, reflecting the Biblical message of finding contentment in God’s provision and presence.
